Help Riverview Dek Hockey Replace Their Dek

After 10 years of use our dek surface has reached the end of its lifespan and is in dire need of replacement.

Riverview Dek Hockey is a non-profit youth organization that has served the community of Oakmont, PA and surrounding areas growing the sport of dek hockey since 2014. Our goal is to provide a family-focused place where kids can do more than just play dek hockey. Starting as young as age four, our goal is not only to grow better athletes, but more importantly better people.

Every year we coordinate with the American Cancer Society to host a charity dek hockey tournament, Hockey for Life, to coincide with their annual Relay for Life event. To date, we have raised over $15,000 to support advances in cancer research and management.

What we need

Initially built by the Penguin Foundation, the dek hockey rink at Riverside Park has been maintained by the hard work of the Riverview Dek Hockey volunteers for 10 years. Despite our best efforts, the plastic tiles which make up the surface of the dek are in poor condition and badly in need of replacement.

The total cost to replace a dek hockey surface is right around $60,000. We are hoping to raise half of this amount. Installation of the dek tiles will be done by Riverview Dek Hockey volunteers and friends.

In an effort to keep this sport accessible to all families and our league registration fees low, we are asking for help from our community.

Thank you! Every donation helps us get closer to a new and safer surface where anyone can come play dek hockey for another decade!
